Bukayo Saka, winger for Arsenal F.C., has sparked surprise among fans after admitting he is unfamiliar with legendary Canadian singer Celine Dion and her music.
The England international made the revelation during a light-hearted conversation with Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems, where the two discussed music influences and early inspirations.
During the chat, Saka asked Tems about the artists who inspired her while growing up and when she began singing.
Tems responded that she was around nine years old when she started singing and revealed that Celine Dion was one of the musicians she admired most during her formative years.
However, Saka appeared puzzled by the name, admitting he had never heard of the globally celebrated singer.
“You said you were nine when you started singing. Did you have any idols or singers you loved?” Saka asked.
“I loved Celine Dion,” Tems replied.
Saka then responded: “I don’t know who that is.”
Surprised by the remark, Tems asked, “You don’t know who Celine Dion is?”
“No. Is that bad?” Saka replied, prompting Tems to react in disbelief, exclaiming, “Oh my gosh. Celine Dion!”
The moment has since generated buzz online, with fans reacting to the football star’s candid admission about the iconic singer known for global hits such as My Heart Will Go On.
