As President Bola Tinubu marked his 74th birthday on Sunday, a former President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan; incumbent Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau and the chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Solomon Adeola, have rejoiced with the number one citizen, commending him for his commitment to national development.
The senators, in their separate messages of felicitation to the President, also eulogized him for his numerous achievements since assumption of office aimed at boosting the living standards of the people and national prosperity.
In his personally signed statement titled: “Bold reforms reshaping governance”, Lawan, who represents Yobe North Senatorial District, described Tinubu’s journey as “a compelling narrative of courage, tenacity, and an unyielding commitment to democratic ideals.“
“From the crucible of the pro-democracy struggles against military dictatorship, where your voice was a clarion call for freedom, to the highest office in the land, you have consistently demonstrated that leadership is about service, sacrifice, and the relentless pursuit of a better society,” he added.
As the 16th President, he said Tinubu is bringing same audacious vision and executive capacity to bear on Nigeria, noting that the Renewed Hope mantra of his administration “is a policy framework and a governance philosophy that is already reshaping our economic discourse and redefining our infrastructural outlook.”
“Your willingness to make tough, long-overdue decisions for the structural adjustment of our economy speaks to your belief in the Nigerian potential. It is a belief that we will not just survive our challenges, but that we will overcome them and succeed, the former Senate President stated.
In his own, Barau expressed optimism that Nigerians would overwhelmingly vote for Tinubu on January 16, 2027 presidential election, to continue his reforms and infrastructural development for the country’s progress and prosperity.
The Deputy Senate President, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, described Tinubu as “a visionary leader who has been working tirelessly for the past 34 months to reposition our country for the benefit of both present and future generations.”
“I have no doubt that by this time next year, when we will be celebrating his 75th birthday, he will be the President-elect for his second term. The victory will herald his birthday celebration,” he said.
Also, Adeola in a statement by his media adviser, Kayode Odunaro, described the President as “a man whose life has been defined by courage, vision, unparalleled wisdom and an unwavering commitment to the progress of our nation.”
The Ogun West senator stated that the Tinubu’s leadership has not only shaped the political and economic landscape of Nigeria for the better from the doldrums he met it, but has also raised and guided many who are proud beneficiaries of his wisdom and enduring legacy.
“You remain a pillar of progressive politics and a source of inspiration to generations. In the annals of Nigeria history, you occupy copious pages of positive and historic development,“ he stated.
