Birotojob to Take Digital Skills Training to IDP Camps, Vulnerable Communities

Chief Executive Officer of Birotojob, Charles Okwuosa, has unveiled an ambitious plan to extend digital skills training to internally displaced persons (IDP) camps and vulnerable communities across Nigeria.

Okwuosa disclosed the initiative shortly after returning from Qatar, where he had been driving international partnerships. On arrival, he convened a closed-door strategy session with top tech experts and workforce development leaders, described by insiders as a landmark convergence of technology and national development.

At the heart of the discussions was Birotojob’s “Train-the-Trainer for National Impact” programme, aimed at preparing Regional Tech Trainers and Digital Workforce Mentors for deployment nationwide in 2026. Under a proposed collaboration with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, the organisation plans to deploy mobile tech hubs to IDP camps, train displaced youths and widows, and issue certifications that open doors to remote jobs and tech-driven entrepreneurship. Secondary school leavers outside the university system are also targeted under special career pathways.

“We are not giving handouts; we are giving lifelong skills,” said Magnus Oku, leader of the Nation Builders and Reformers Organization, Birotojob’s partner in the outreach programme.

The initiative will equip Nigerian instructors with international-standard curriculum and delivery systems to train thousands of youths in software development, digital marketing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analysis and tech entrepreneurship across the six geopolitical zones.

Birotojob is accredited by the American Council of Training and Development, recognised by the Industrial Training Fund, and affiliated with the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), placing it among a select group authorised to deliver internationally benchmarked digital and vocational training.

Okwuosa stressed that Nigeria’s youthful population represents either a ticking time bomb or an economic goldmine. “If we fail to skill them, we fail the nation. But if we empower them with digital skills, we unlock enormous economic value and restore hope to millions,” he declared.

The expected engagement with the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs is set to formalise a long-term public-private-NGO framework that could position Nigeria as a continental leader in humanitarian digital empowerment.
