APC Holds Abuja Walk, Signals Readiness for Convention

By Lanre Oloyede

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its preparedness for its forthcoming National Convention as well as the 2027 general elections, following a symbolic “Go Green” walk held in Abuja.

The event, organised by the Environment and Sanitation Sub-committee of the convention planning team, brought together top party officials who used the occasion to project confidence in the party’s organisational strength ahead of the weekend’s convention.

Chairman of the Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 National Convention, Hon. Aminu Masari, led other party chieftains on the “Cleaner and Safer Environment Walk,” describing it as a demonstration of the APC’s readiness for both immediate and future political contests.

According to Masari, while minor challenges have arisen in the course of preparations, they are being effectively managed, assuring that the party remains firmly on track to deliver a successful convention.

Also speaking, co-chairman of the Environment and Sanitation Sub-committee and former Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, said the exercise underscored the party’s capacity to organise a smooth and well-coordinated convention.

He added that the APC is repositioning itself with a clear direction for governance.

Ayade further expressed optimism in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the administration’s ongoing reforms would, in time, produce tangible benefits for Nigerians.

Similarly, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating that it reflects the party’s alignment with global concerns such as environmental sustainability, alongside its internal preparations.

Dogara also called for patience among citizens, stressing that the impact of reforms often takes time to materialise but would ultimately yield positive outcomes.

In the same vein, Secretary of the sub-committee, Senator Uche Ekwunife, praised the turnout at the event, describing it as an indication of unity and collective resolve within the party.

The APC maintained that the walk not only reinforces its readiness for the convention but also signals its determination to secure victory in the 2027 elections.
