IGP Disu, ALGON partner to enhance police equipment

Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has reiterated his commitment to strengthening the capacity of the Nigeria Police Force and ensuring that officers receive better equipment to carry out their duties effectively across all the local government areas in the country.

While reacting to the willingness of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, to support police operations across the country, Disu acknowledged the efforts made by the association in the past for the efficiency of police operations in the past and promised to continue to build on existing successes.

Disu disclosed this when the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Engr. Bello Lawal, led a delegation of senior executives on a courtesy visit to his office at the Force Headquarters, Abuja recently.

The delegation congratulated Disu on his appointment as IGP by President Bola Tinubu and highlighted the association’s ongoing collaborations with the federal and states governments to drive policies nationwide as well as reaffirmed the association’s readiness to stand as a partner to the police.

“This significant visit marks a renewed partnership between ALGON and the Nigeria Police Force, aimed at improving the security architecture across Nigeria’s local government areas,” according to the statement from the Force Headquarters,” said IGP.

The delegation was made up of Hon. Alabi Kolade, former National President; Hon. Odunayo Ategbero, ALGON BOT Chairman; Senator Uzamere Igbeke, Financial and Lead Consultant; Hon. Dr. Okafor Odinaka Cyril, BOT ALGON South East; Hon. Shehu Marshal, Chief of Staff ALGON; Barr. (Mrs.) Evan Enekwe, Acting Director General; Dr. Ben Nkechika, Consultant on Health ALGON; Donald Ayibiowu Esq, Special Adviser on Legislative Matters; and Obiora Orji, Head of Media ALGON.
