KWSG trains teachers on digital entrepreneurship, AI to boost curriculum

The Kwara State Government has trained no fewer than 50 teachers in digital entrepreneurship, STEAM and artificial intelligence to strengthen curriculum delivery and equip students with globally relevant skills for emerging digital learning challenges.

The four-day programme, held recently in collaboration with Digital Innovation Schools Nigeria Tech2Grassroots Africa Pilot Programme, targeted public and private school teachers drawn from various locations across the state.

Giving his remarks during the training session held at the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development’s Resource Centre (ERC), Tanke, Ilorin, the State Commissioner, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, said the initiative would empower teachers with the requisite skills to effectively deliver the entrepreneurship curriculum and seamlessly navigate evolving global education demands through technology integration.

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Olanrewaju Rebecca Bake, noted that the training would boost teachers’ morale and improve overall learning outcomes across public and private schools statewide.

The Chief Executive Officer, KwaraTech Academy, Mr Ayobami Oludele, commended the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for sustained education reforms, urging participants to maximise the opportunity to acquire skills for societal development and impact.

Participants were trained on practical application of digital tools, entrepreneurship concept and STEAM methodologies to enhance teaching innovation and improve students’ access to modern, technology-driven learning resources in classrooms effectively.
