The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has confirmed that the newly completed bus and taxi terminals in Mabushi and Kugbo will soon become operational after receiving approval from the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
Wike made the announcement on Friday during an inspection of ongoing projects in Abuja, including the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, which connects the terminal to major city routes.
According to the minister, the terminals, although completed and inaugurated in 2025, could not operate earlier because their management required FEC authorization. “We have now received approval, and the management team is setting up all processes. Operations will begin within the next one to three weeks,” he said.
The minister also expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, revealing that it would be inaugurated to mark President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.
Wike further commended the construction of Arterial Road N1, stretching from Wuye District to Ring Road II, saying it is on track to be completed and handed over before the year ends.
“The people of the FCT deserve the best infrastructure, and the government is committed to delivering high-quality projects,” Wike stated.
