Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Ahmed Alkali has officially tendered his resignation to the Presidency.
The Minister disclosed this in a statement signed by the Special Assistant, Media and Publicity
Office of the Minister of Transportation,Umar Alkali Jibril.
Alkali said the move follows the presidential directive requiring all political appointees seeking elective offices to step down from their current roles.
The Minister is resigning to contest for the governorship of Gombe State in the upcoming elections.
In his letter, Alkali expressed deep appreciation to the President for the opportunity to serve, citing significant progress made in the transportation sector during his tenure.
The President has accepted the resignation and thanked the Minister for his dedicated service to the nation.
