The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that it carried out precision airstrikes that decimated terrorist hideouts and neutralised several high-value operatives in the Yuwe general area of the Sambisa axis, dealing a major blow to insurgent activities in the North-East.
In a statement issued Monday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, the operation was conducted under the Joint Task Force of Operation Hadin Kai on February 28, 2026, following confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) that identified structures serving as terrorist commanders’ hideouts and logistics warehouses.
“Acting with precision and overwhelming force, NAF strike elements successfully acquired and engaged the validated targets, delivering accurate air strikes that effectively dismantled critical terrorist infrastructure,” the statement read.
Post-strike assessments backed by credible intelligence confirmed the neutralisation of several senior commanders and fighters actively coordinating hostile operations within the theatre. The strikes were said to have significantly disrupted the terrorists’ command-and-control structure and degraded their logistics network, further limiting their operational capacity.
Commenting on the development, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, commended the professionalism of the aircrew and support personnel, reaffirming the service’s determination to deny terrorists any safe haven across the country. He stressed that the NAF would sustain aggressive, intelligence-led missions in close coordination with ground forces to dismantle all identified terrorist enclaves and restore lasting peace.
