Nigeria’s Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has restated the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) commitment to dominate the country’s airspace, particularly in operational zones, with intensified vigour against insurgent and terrorist threats. He emphasized that every action will be intelligence-driven and decisive.
Speaking during a strategic meeting with Air Component Commanders (ACCs) on Tuesday, Aneke described the forum as a critical review aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and accelerating peace restoration nationwide.
Disclosing the outcome of the meeting, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, said discussions focused on evaluating ongoing missions, closing operational gaps, and aligning strategies with emerging threats.
“Our personnel remain our greatest strength. Their resilience in the face of adversity proves that the Nigerian Air Force is prepared, focused, and battle-ready. We must dominate the operational space through superior coordination, innovation, and unwavering professionalism. Every sortie, every mission, and every decision must move us closer to total security restoration,” Aneke stated, commending the ACCs and their personnel.
The CAS directed commanders to intensify intelligence-led operations, leverage technology, and strengthen inter-agency collaboration. He assured Nigerians that the NAF’s operational posture is designed to deliver sustained security gains, protect civilians, and uphold national stability.
This renewed directive underscores the Air Force’s determination to consolidate recent gains in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations while reinforcing its role in safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty.
