Nestlé Nigeria Plc has unveiled its new initiative, Nestlé for Good, aimed at highlighting the company’s role in improving nutrition, supporting communities, and promoting environmental sustainability across the country.
Speaking at the media launch on Monday, Managing Director of Nestlé Nigeria, Mr. Wassim Elhusseini, said the campaign brings together the company’s programmes designed to enhance lives nationwide.
“Nestlé has been part of Nigerian households for more than six decades, earning a place at family tables, in lunch boxes and at key life moments. This presence is a privilege, and it comes with responsibility. Economic performance and social progress are not competing priorities; they are interconnected. Creating shared value is not a programme but the way we do business,” Elhusseini said.
He explained that the campaign demonstrates how Nestlé translates its Creating Shared Value principle into practical actions across nutrition, community development, and environmental stewardship.
Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability Lead at Nestlé Nigeria, Victoria Uwadoka, said the campaign focuses on three pillars: nutrition, thriving communities, and protection of the planet.
“Nestlé for Good brings together the many ways Nestlé contributes to improving lives across Nigeria through better nutrition, stronger communities and responsible environmental stewardship,” she said.
According to Uwadoka, the company runs initiatives to improve access to clean water, enhance education facilities, and support livelihoods in communities where it operates. She stressed that environmental sustainability remains central to Nestlé’s operations.
The campaign will run for nine months and feature short films showcasing initiatives in youth and women empowerment, climate protection, and dairy development programmes.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mohammed Bala, Director of the Department of Industrial Development at the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, commended Nestlé for the initiative, noting that it aligns with the Federal Government’s agenda for sustainable industrial development. Represented by Mrs. Esther Popoola, Bala said stronger collaboration between government, the private sector, and development partners is vital to unlock Nigeria’s industrial potential.
Dr. Chioma Emma-Nwachukwu, Director of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN), also called for continued collaboration to strengthen nutrition across the country. Represented by Mrs. Amaka Okwesilieze, she urged the media to play an active role in nutrition education.
