Prosperity Cup 2026: More Teams Secure Round of 32 Ticket

‎Bayelsa United Feeders, Akenfa FC of Akenfa, Brazil FC, Izuo Gillette and Akinima/Biogbo have all qualified for the round of 32 of Nigeria’s biggest grassroots football spectacle, the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament, tagged the Prosperity Cup.

‎Bayelsa United Feeders at the Kpansia centre beat hard-fighting Donbai United 3-2 on penalties after a barren draw in regulation time with Bayelsa United Feeders goalkeeper, Adamawa Oyintari making crucial saves in the game.

‎Sea Side FA at the Bishop Dimeari Grammar School, BDGS centre took United Stars FC to the cleaners with a comfortable three nil victory to qualify for the round of 32 of the tournament.

‎Akinima/Biogbo FC at the Igbogene centre pipped Mighty-Mighty FC by a lone goal, courtesy of Inesei Tariki’s 51 minute strike to secure a place in the round of 32, having shown dominance at the Igbogene centre.

‎Izuo Gillette at the busy Swali centre overpowered Hummels FC of Otuokpoti 4-2 on penalties after a one-all draw in regulation time to advance into the business stage of the competition.

‎Brazil FC at the Obunagha centre beat Citiboi FC Feeders 5-4 on penalties after a one all-draw in regulation time. Godspower John put Citiboi Feeders ahead on 21 minutes. Nkor Oliver equalized on 75 minutes having controlled the second half.

‎Akenfa FC at the Okordia centre edged out Global City Football Academy by three goals to one. Franklin Woyinmie put Global City ahead a minute into the encounter. Golden Bembo levelled the scoreline on 11 minutes. William Robert confirmed Akenfa FC’s victory on 43 and 55 minutes with a brace to seal a place in the round of 32.

‎In the meantime, the semi-finals and final fixture in the Ogbia LGA play-offs will be decided on Tuesday 31st March, 2026. Former Ogbia Champions, Movers FC of Otuasega will take on Kolo Creek United at the Imiringi centre at 3.00pm.

‎Southern Ijaw LGA, will see Onyoma FC up against Korokorosei centre winners, Onde United of Ondewari at 12.00pm while NDU Oilers FC will confront Eniwari FC at 3.00pm, both games will be decided at the BDGS centre.

‎Sagbama LGA defending champions, Agbere FC will face Kolobiriowei FC at 3.00pm at the Ebedebiri centre as Agoro United welcomes Akeddei FC of Akeddei at the Ogobiri centre at 3.00pm.

‎The Prosperity Cup train is expected to move to Kolokuma/ Opokuma LGA this weekend as the LGA finals get underway next month.
