OHCSF Releases Results of Written Exam for Prospective Permanent Secretaries

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) on Tuesday announced the outcome of the written examination for prospective Permanent Secretaries, completing the first phase of the selection process.

Out of the 25 candidates who sat for the examination, 14 successfully scaled through to the next stage, while 11 did not meet the required benchmark. The development was disclosed in a statement issued by Eno Olotu, Director of Press and Public Relations.

According to the statement, the next phase, an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Proficiency Test, is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The ICT assessment is aimed at evaluating the digital capacity of the candidates, considered a key requirement for leadership in an increasingly technology‑driven public service.

Reacting to the results, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson‑Jack, stated that the selection exercise is being conducted with credibility, transparency, and competitiveness. She noted that the process aligns with the Federal Government’s reform agenda to reposition the public service as professional, accountable, and future‑ready.

Walson‑Jack further reaffirmed the commitment of the Office to a merit‑based selection system designed to identify individuals of proven competence, integrity, and strategic vision to lead the Federal Civil Service. She assured Nigerians that the entire exercise would continue to be guided by fairness and integrity, in line with the broader governance and public service renewal objectives of the Federal Government.
