Wike Elevates Kwali Traditional Stool to First-Class Status, Announces New Palace

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced the elevation of the traditional ruler of Kwali Area Council to a first-class status and the construction of a new palace befitting the upgraded stool.

The announcement was made during Wike’s visit to Kwali on Monday, where he conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s appreciation to residents for their support.

Speaking at an interactive session with community leaders and residents, Wike reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the people. “Agreement is agreement,” he said, assuring that commitments would be honoured.

As part of the decisions, Wike revealed that the stool of the Kwali monarch would be elevated to first-class status in recognition of his support for government initiatives. He also disclosed plans for the construction of a modern palace to reflect the new status.

In addition, the minister assured residents that previously promised road projects in the area would soon commence, noting that contractors would be mobilised to site shortly.

Wike commended the people of Kwali for their cooperation, describing it as a key factor in attracting development. He also praised the leadership of the council, noting that both the outgoing chairman and the chairman-elect had consistently advocated for the interests of the people.

“Today, by the grace of God, you have fulfilled the promise you made to Mr. President, and we will also fulfil the promises we have made to you,” Wike said.

The minister reiterated the commitment of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to strengthening its partnership with the people of Kwali, assuring them of continued support and development initiatives.
