A women-focused training programme has provided participants with practical skills aimed at improving economic independence and supporting small-scale entrepreneurship.

The initiative, which brought together women from different backgrounds, focused on equipping participants with vocational and digital skills, including balloon decoration, production of bridal hand fans and earrings, as well as photography, videography, and content creation.

Organisers of the programme said the training was designed to enhance participants’ capacity to generate income and build sustainable livelihoods in an increasingly competitive economic environment.

They noted that the initiative also seeks to encourage collaboration among women while creating opportunities for personal development and enterprise growth.

According to them, empowering women with relevant skills remains critical to strengthening local economies and promoting inclusive development within communities.

Participants were exposed to hands-on sessions intended to help them translate acquired knowledge into practical business opportunities.

Stakeholders have continued to emphasise the importance of such programmes in addressing unemployment and improving financial independence, particularly among women.
