As Christians mark this year’s Easter, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio has called on Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence, tolerance and mutual respect across faiths and ethnic lines.
In an Easter message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, he congratulated Christians and asked them to reflect on love, peace and unity embodied in Christ’s resurrection.
“On behalf of my family, constituents, the Senate and the National Assembly, I wish all Christians a joyful Easter,” he said.
The Senate President urged citizens to work together for a country where everyone lives in peace, harmony and prosperity.
Akpabio acknowledged Nigeria’s security challenges but expressed confidence they will be overcome through collective effort, understanding and prayer.
He noted that President Bola Tinubu and the Armed Forces are working relentlessly to curb terrorism and banditry.
The Senate President sympathised with families hit by recent attacks, especially the Jos killings in Plateau State, praying God to grant mercy to victims and comfort to survivors.
“May God bless Nigeria, show us His course, help us defeat those waging war on our people and guide us to a brighter future,” Akpabio said.
