Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has congratulated Christians on Easter and called on Nigerians to keep praying for and backing President Bola Tinubu’s transformation agenda.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Barau said the season invites believers to imitate Christ’s love, sacrifice and suffering.
“As the Christian faithful celebrate Easter, it is important to remember the essence of Easter, which is the recognition of the love, sacrifice, and suffering Jesus Christ bore for Christendom,” he said.
The Deputy Senate President also preached that love and tolerance should prevail above violence, killings, agitations, and other divisive tendencies.
“In our collective efforts to progress as a nation, we must all rise above our perceived differences. Only love and tolerance will make us a great nation,” he added.
As the First Deputy Speaker of the Economic Community of West Africa States, ECOWAS Parliament, he urged all citizens to sustain faith in God and promote peace, love and unity.
Barau argued that Tinubu has shown, through policies and actions, that Nigeria’s interest comes first.
He asked Nigerians to remember Easter’s core—selflessness—and to support the President as he steers the country toward progress and prosperity.
