The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the release of the names of 50,000 successful applicants recruited into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables following the completion of the nationwide recruitment exercise.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the commission’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani.
According to the PSC, the recruitment process was conducted in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, state career and counselling departments, as well as the Police Community Relations Committee.
The commission described the exercise as transparent, inclusive, fair and in line with due process.
It advised all candidates who sat for the recently concluded written examination to visit the official recruitment portal, npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, to confirm their recruitment status. The portal is scheduled to open at 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
The PSC added that successful candidates would also receive notifications through the email addresses and telephone numbers submitted during the application process.
The commission said shortlisted applicants would later be informed of the dates and venues for reporting to their designated Police Training Institutions for documentation and medical screening.
It warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period would be deemed to have declined the offer, while those who do not pass the mandatory medical examination conducted by the Police Medical Team would be disqualified from the training programme.
Successful candidates are expected to report with their training call-up slip, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip, original and photocopies of their academic credentials, and other required documents and items listed on the recruitment portal.
Chairman of the PSC, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Hashimu Argungu expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 police constables, describing the initiative as a major step toward strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
Argungu urged the newly recruited constables to embrace the opportunity with discipline, professionalism and dedication to national service.
He said the recruitment was aimed at boosting the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force and called on the successful candidates to serve the country with integrity, commitment and a strong sense of responsibility.
