The National Coordinator of the Ward 2 Ward City Boy Movement, Ebizimor Preye Raphael, has congratulated Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, the government and people of the state on the 30th anniversary of the state’s creation.
In a goodwill message marking the milestone, Raphael described the anniversary as an important opportunity to reflect on Bayelsa’s journey over the past three decades, while celebrating the resilience, unity, achievements and aspirations of its people.
He said the occasion was also a moment to honour the contributions and sacrifices of the state’s founding fathers, past leaders and other stakeholders who have played significant roles in the development of Bayelsa.
According to him, Bayelsa, created as the youngest state in the Niger Delta at the time, has continued to evolve, with its people demonstrating resilience and a strong sense of cultural identity.
He noted that the anniversary should not only be about celebrating achievements but should also renew the collective commitment to building a more prosperous, peaceful and inclusive state.
Raphael commended Governor Diri for what he described as his commitment to the development of Bayelsa and efforts to improve the welfare of its people.
He urged Bayelsans to continue to promote peace, unity and cooperation across communities, stressing that collective effort remained essential to achieving sustainable development in the state.
“While acknowledging the progress made, this anniversary also reminds us of our collective responsibility to work togethe”r towards building a more prosperous, peaceful, and inclusive Bayelsa for future generations,” he said.
The Ward 2 Ward City Boy Movement leader prayed for greater peace, unity, progress and prosperity across Bayelsa State as it marks 30 years of statehood.
He wished the government and people of Bayelsa a happy 30th anniversary, saying the milestone offered an opportunity to celebrate the state’s journey while looking forward to a brighter future.
