The SERVICOM National Office has applauded the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for notable improvements in its service delivery, particularly in the conduct of Orientation Camp activities such as feeding and other services provided to Corps Members.
The commendation was given by SERVICOM National Coordinator, Nnenna Akajemeli, as keynote speaker at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Second Quarter Networking Meeting for Desk Officers held in Abuja. The event, themed “Leveraging SERVICOM Principles for Effective and Efficient Service Delivery in NYSC”, highlighted NYSC’s responsiveness to citizens’ needs.
Akajemeli, represented by the Head of Operations, Mrs Ngozi Akinbodewa, described the NYSC as one of the Federal Government agencies demonstrating commendable commitment to quality service delivery.
In his address, NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, reaffirmed the Scheme’s resolve to sustain and further improve service delivery in line with SERVICOM standards. Represented by the Director of Reforms Coordination and Service Improvement, Chief Chinwendu Chukwu, Nafiu urged Desk Officers to renew their commitment to professionalism, integrity, and strict adherence to SERVICOM principles.
He described Desk Officers as a critical link between the Scheme and the public, charging them to continually reassess their engagement with stakeholders to strengthen public confidence in the NYSC.
Participants at the workshop were drawn from the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, the FCT, and the 36 State Secretariats.
