BREAKING: Zulum Dissolves Borno Executive Council

Juliet Ezeh

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has approved the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council.

The directive, announced in a statement by Bukar Tijani, orders all commissioners to hand over to permanent secretaries on or before April 3, 2026.

The move is aimed at allowing members of the council who may wish to contest in the forthcoming general elections to do so without holding public office.

Governor Zulum expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their service, noting their contributions to governance in the state.

Permanent secretaries are expected to take over the administration of ministries pending further directives.

The development is seen as part of early political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

Details shortly…
