As part of its commitment to improving customer experience and expanding access to housing finance for Nigerian workers, the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has presented symbolic cheques to some staff of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), who accessed the bank’s Home Renovation Loan (HRL) facility.
The presentation, which held yesterday at the bank’s Head Office in Abuja, formed part of activities marking the 2026 Customer Service Week, with the global theme: “The Extra Mile.”
Presenting the cheques, the Managing Director/Chief Executive of FMBN, Shehu Usman Osidi described the event as a practical demonstration of the Bank’s commitment to meeting the housing needs of Nigerian workers who contribute to the National Housing Fund (NHF) Scheme.

Executive Director, Loans and Mortgage Services, Dr. Muhammad Sani Abdu
commended the beneficiaries for their confidence in FMBN, adding that cheque presentations underscored the tangible impact of the bank’s housing finance interventions on the lives of its customers.
He hailed staff of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Finance and Control (FINCON), and Special Products Group (SPG) departments for working assidously to ensure that the facility was processed and disbursed promptly, with the funds credited to beneficiaries’ accounts immediately after the presentation.
The Group Head, Special Products Group, Mr. Ibrahim Nafada appreciated the UBEC staff for choosing FMBN and taking advantage of the HRL facility, saying that their access to the facility demonstrates the value of the NHF scheme in providing practical solutions to the housing needs of contributors.
Nafada commended staff of FMBN for their dedication and teamwork, which he said contributed to the successful processing and disbursement of the facility to the beneficiaries.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Joyce Eromosele and Hajiya Maryam Jubril appreciated FMBN for providing them with the opportunity to access the HRL.
They appealed to the FMBN to continue expanding access to housing finance for Nigerian, particularly through the NHF mortgage loan, to enable more contributors achieve their dream of homeownership.
