Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have killed 44 suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in coordinated offensive operations across Borno State.
The operations also left several terrorists injured, while their vehicles, motorcycles and improvised explosive device (IED) materials were destroyed.
The Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Mohammed Goni, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
Goni said the operations were part of sustained intelligence-led offensives aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and restricting their activities across the North-East.
He explained that on October 26, 2026, troops engaged suspected terrorists at different locations in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State following intelligence reports and surveillance findings.
“Battle damage assessment indicated that 28 terrorists were neutralised, while six others reportedly sustained injuries,” he said.
According to him, the Maritime Component of the operation, operating from the Naval Base Lake Chad in Baga, conducted another offensive against terrorist targets in the Lake Chad area on October 28.
The operation reportedly resulted in the killing of eight terrorists, while 10 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Goni added that a separate air interdiction mission disrupted a suspected terrorist group’s attempt to plant improvised explosive devices, killing eight operatives and destroying their vehicle, motorcycles and IED materials.
He said the air operation prevented the terrorists from carrying out their planned activity.
“These successes reflect the sustained pressure being exerted on terrorist networks through intelligence-led joint operations,” he stated.
The military spokesman reaffirmed the Theatre Command’s commitment to degrading terrorist capabilities, limiting their freedom of movement and protecting communities across the North-East.
He urged residents to provide credible information to security agencies to strengthen ongoing military operations and support efforts to restore lasting peace and security in the region.
The latest operation followed another military offensive on Monday, during which troops of Operation Hadin Kai killed 16 suspected ISWAP fighters in coordinated air and artillery strikes on three suspected terrorist locations in the Tunbunma area of southern Lake Chad.
The operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of key terrorist leaders and fighters in the area.
