Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board,JAMB, has clarified that candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results are not required to re-upload the results or obtain a new verification code under the Board’s new verification system.
The clarification followed numerous complaints and inquiries from candidates who uploaded their results during the current registration exercise, after the release of the West African Examinations Council,WAEC, results, or in previous years under the former upload process.
In a statement signed by the Board’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said all O’Level results previously uploaded through its old process remain valid and will continue to be recognised on its platform.
The Board explained that the new verification arrangement was introduced to strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and prevent the acceptance of falsified credentials in the admission process.
According to JAMB, candidates whose results were uploaded under the previous system will have those results subjected to the appropriate verification process by their respective institutions where necessary.
The Board therefore advised affected candidates against panic or unnecessary re-uploading of their O’Level results simply because the new verification arrangement had been introduced.
It assured candidates that their previously uploaded results remain valid and will be available for consideration during the admission process, subject to any required verification by the respective institutions.
“Candidates who have previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload their results or obtain a verification code again,” the Board stated.
JAMB urged candidates to disregard any information suggesting that they must repeat the upload process solely because their results were submitted before the introduction of the new verification system.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a credible admission process through measures designed to verify the authenticity of candidates’ academic credentials.
