Labour Party Ticket Race Heats Up as Top Aspirants Secure Nomination Forms

The race for elective positions on the Labour Party platform gathered fresh momentum as several high-profile aspirants visited the party’s National Secretariat to obtain nomination forms ahead of the upcoming elections.

This was contained in a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Eluma Asogwa and made available to journalists.

The secretariat witnessed increased activity as aspirants from across the country, representing both Northern and Southern regions, turned up to formalize their ambitions for various political offices.

Among those who picked up forms were former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, seeking to represent Nasarawa North Senatorial District; Senator Ishaku Abbo, contesting for the Adamawa State governorship; and Emmanuel Ben, who is aspiring to become governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Others include Adamu Bako Blanzou for the Akwanga North/Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives; Hon. Jesse James Ayenajeh for the Toto Federal Constituency seat in Nasarawa State; and Hon. Chidiebere Darlington Anyanwu for the Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency seat in Imo State, alongside several other hopefuls.

Speaking after collecting his nomination forms, Labaran Maku praised the transparency of the process and expressed confidence in the Labour Party’s growing popularity nationwide.

He stated that the party has continued to gain the trust of Nigerians and predicted strong electoral performances in future elections, particularly in Nasarawa State and across his senatorial district, where he said supporters remain committed to delivering victory for the party.

Senator Ishaku Abbo also commended the increasing support for the Labour Party, while applauding the leadership of National Chairman Nenadi Usman for strengthening and repositioning the party.

Abbo further expressed optimism that the party would record significant successes in Adamawa State and across the North-East region in the coming elections.
