Nigerian Environmental Society,NES, will hold its 35th National Conference and 36th Annual General Meeting,AGM,from October 8 to 10, 2026, in Benin City, Edo State.
The conference, themed “Reimagining Environmental Solutions: Digital Innovations, Artificial Intelligence, and Inclusive Financing in Nigeria,” will hold at the Randekhi Hotel Main Hall, Uhenuyi Street, GRA, Benin City.
According to the organiser of the event tagged “Edo 2026 – The Heartbeat of the Nation”, the conference will examine how digital innovations, AI and inclusive financing can be deployed to address Nigeria’s environmental challenges.
Chief Sustainability Officer, CGI United Kingdom, Dr Mattie Yeta, will deliver the keynote address, while Director International at the Netherlands Commission for Environmental Assessment (NCEA), Dennis Van Peppen, will be the Guest Speaker.
Edo State Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, is the Chief Host, while National President of NES, Dr Efegbidiki Okobia, FNES, is the Host.
Special guests expected at the conference include the Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Senate Committee Chairman on Environment, Sen. Olubiyi Oluwole Fadeyi; House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Host Communities, Rt. Hon. Dekor Dunamene; Senate Committee Chairman on Ecology and Climate Change, Hon. Seriake Dickson; House of Representatives member, Hon. Mike Eteba; the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II; and the Okuokpellagbe of Okpella, HRM Michael E. O. Sado.
