Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) have inaugurated the Technical Committee for the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) 2026, with a mandate to showcase Nigeria’s tourism potential, particularly destinations within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The inauguration ceremony, held at the NTDA headquarters in Abuja, was hosted by the Director-General of NTDA, Mr. Ola Awakan, alongside the President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku.
The committee is tasked with developing tourism, entertainment and cultural experiences that will enhance the global visibility of Nigeria ahead of the international forum, which is expected to attract delegates from over 150 countries.
The collaboration between both organisations is aimed at promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, hospitality, creative industries and tourism attractions through strategic public relations initiatives.
A major focus of the committee will be the design of an engaging tourism and entertainment programme for participants of the World Public Relations Forum 2026 and the Naija Flavour International Tourism (NAFITO) Expo scheduled to take place in Abuja in November.
The Technical Committee will draw on the expertise of professionals from both institutions to create memorable experiences that highlight Nigeria’s destinations, arts, culture, heritage and creative economy.
The initiative is expected to further strengthen efforts toward repositioning Nigeria as a leading tourism destination while leveraging global events to project the country’s positive image.
