The Social Democratic Party (SDP) will on Tuesday unveil its presidential policy blueprint, Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity: Governance & Accelerated Development — Blueprint of a New Nigeria, 2027–2031, authored by its presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo.
The public presentation is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, and is expected to provide Nigerians with details of the party’s policy direction ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The blueprint places poverty and insecurity at the centre of the SDP’s proposed governance agenda, while outlining strategies for economic growth, improved security and accelerated national development.
The event is expected to attract political stakeholders, professionals, members of the diplomatic community, civil society organisations, the media and other Nigerians.
Adebayo is expected to explain the key policies contained in the document and how his administration would implement them if elected president in 2027.
The SDP candidate has consistently made poverty reduction, economic opportunity, and security and effective governance major themes of his political campaign.
The unveiling comes amid growing public concern over poverty, unemployment, insecurity, inflation and declining purchasing power, issues expected to dominate political debates ahead of the 2027 elections.
The event will be hosted by the SDP National Chairman, Prof. Sadiq Abubakar Gombe.
The party said the blueprint represents a comprehensive policy alternative aimed at addressing the root causes of poverty and insecurity and laying the foundation for what it describes as “a new Nigeria.”
The party’s invitation carries the message: “SDP… Progress! A New Nigeria is Possible.”
