The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned aspirants who lost in the party’s primary elections to desist from presenting themselves as its candidates for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement, the party declared that only candidates whose names have been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are officially recognised as APC flag bearers.
According to the APC, its National Secretariat has successfully uploaded the names of three senatorial candidates and 14 House of Representatives candidates from Oyo State to the INEC portal in compliance with the Electoral Act. The nomination process was concluded following the submission of the candidates’ forms at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
The party listed Senator Yunus Akintunde as its candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Aderemi Oseni for Oyo South Senatorial District, and Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan for Oyo North Senatorial District.
For the House of Representatives, the APC named Akeem Adeyemi for Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West Federal Constituency, Segun Odebunmi for Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere, Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem for Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West, Akin Alabi for Egbeda/Ona-Ara, Olafisoye Akinmoyede for Akinyele/Lagelu, and Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo for Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West.
Others include Tolulope Akande-Shadipe for Oluyole, Olamijuwon Alao-Akala for Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire, Olatubosun Oladele for Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope, Umar Farouk Alao for Ibadan North, Ibrahim Iyiola for Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East, and Sarafa Olaoniye for Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency.
The ruling party stressed that only candidates whose names have been submitted to INEC are duly recognised in Oyo State. It urged all aggrieved aspirants to respect the outcome of the primaries and refrain from creating confusion by parading themselves as APC ticket bearers.
