The Kebbi Government has vowed to track down and bring to justice the killers of the village head of Lafagu in Bagudo Local Government Area, Alhaji Saidu Mujeli
has condemned the killing of the Village Head of Lafagu community in Bagudo Local Government Area, Alhaji Saidu Mujeli, describing the incident as barbaric.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Ahmed Idris, Governor Idris condemned the killing, describing it as barbaric.
Governor Idris assured the affected communities that his administration is working closely with security agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attacks and ensure that they face the full wrath of the law.
He disclosed that arrangements were being intensified with the relevant security agencies to strengthen security operations in the affected areas and protect the lives and property of residents.
“I received with profound sadness and deep concern the unfortunate incidents that occurred around Kaoje, particularly in the Lafagu and Buya communities, which resulted in the loss of lives, including the death of the Village Head of Lafagu, Alhaji Saidu Mujeli. May Allah SWT forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus”.
The Governor also commiserated with the District Head of Kaoje, Alhaji Mustapha Usman Kaoje, and the Sarkin Yamma of Kaoje, Alhaji Yakubu Abubakar Kaoje, over the losses suffered by their subjects and the difficult circumstances confronting the affected communities.
He assured them that the state government would continue to provide the necessary logistics and support to security agencies while strengthening ongoing efforts to restore peace and security to the affected areas.
The Governor expressed particular concern for residents who had been forced to abandon their homes, farmlands, businesses and other means of livelihood as a result of the insecurity, assuring them that his administration was working with security agencies to create the conditions necessary for their safe return and the restoration of normal economic and social activities.
Governor Idris urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, peaceful and law-abiding, while calling on community leaders and residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing relevant information that could assist ongoing efforts to apprehend those responsible for the attacks.
He reiterated the commitment of his administration to protecting the lives and property of the people of Kebbi State, stressing that the government would continue to take all necessary measures within its powers to restore lasting peace and security in the affected areas.
