Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the suspension of the services of Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), the operator of Nigeria’s Visa Application Centres in the United States, with effect from July 1, 2026, until further notice.
The Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, disclosed this in a statement issued Thursday in Abuja, saying the decision affects visa application submissions handled by OIS Services in the United States.
According to the statement, all applicants seeking Nigerian visas were now required to submit their applications directly at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or at the Consulates General of Nigeria in New York and Atlanta.
The NIS clarified that the suspension applies only to visa application submissions at the Nigerian missions in the United States and does not affect its electronic visa platform.
It explained that applicants can continue to apply for Nigerian e-Visas through the official online portal.
The Service also assured the public that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure the seamless submission, processing and issuance of visas during the transition period.
It advised prospective travellers, Nigerians residing in the United States, and other applicants to monitor the official communication channels of the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigerian Mission in the United States for updates on visa application procedures.
The NIS expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of affected applicants, reaffirming its commitment to efficient and effective service delivery.
