The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has certified the Transcorp Hilton Abuja as fire safety compliant following a successful emergency simulation and evacuation exercise conducted at the hotel’s Congress Hall.
According to a press release signed by DCF Paul Abraham, National Public Relations Officer and Head of Corporate Services, the scheduled drill was supervised by Superintendent of Fire Murtala Muhammed, Head of the Enforcement Unit, alongside his team. The exercise assessed the facility’s emergency response procedures and the readiness of both occupants and safety personnel.
Following the simulation and a comprehensive safety assessment, the Federal Fire Service confirmed the hotel’s compliance with fire safety standards and subsequently issued a certification. The Service commended the management and occupants of Transcorp Hilton for their cooperation and demonstrated commitment to established safety protocols, stressing that periodic drills remain critical to preventing disasters and safeguarding lives and property.
The Service also clarified that reports suggesting a fire outbreak at the facility during the exercise were inaccurate, describing them as a misunderstanding of the routine safety drill.
Reiterating its commitment to preventive safety measures, the Federal Fire Service said it will continue strengthening emergency response capacity in public and private establishments nationwide, ensuring preparedness and resilience against potential fire hazards.
