The family of late Ijaw music icon, King Robert Ebizimor, JP (The Numupere I of Izonland), has expressed profound appreciation to the Pere of the Western Ijaw Residents in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, for what it described as his exceptional generosity and unwavering commitment to preserving the cultural legacy of the legendary musician.
The appreciation was contained in a statement signed by High Chief Ebizimor Preye Raphael on behalf of the Ebizimor Family and the KRE Dynasty.
The family commended the monarch for single-handedly sponsoring the maiden edition of the King Robert Ebizimor Annual Festival, describing the gesture as a significant contribution to safeguarding the heritage of one of the Ijaw Nation’s most celebrated cultural icons.
According to the statement, the royal father’s intervention ensured the successful hosting of the festival and provided a befitting tribute to the memory and enduring contributions of the late King Robert Ebizimor to Ijaw music and culture.
The family further noted that beyond the financial support for the festival, the monarch had continued to show genuine concern, encouragement and assistance during a difficult period, describing his actions as a source of comfort and strength.
It stated that the monarch’s commitment demonstrated that the legacy of King Robert Ebizimor continues to resonate among distinguished sons of the Ijaw Nation who remain dedicated to promoting the people’s cultural identity.
The family said words were insufficient to express its gratitude for the monarch’s sacrifice, leadership and fatherly support, adding that history would remember his role in ensuring that the legacy of the Numupere I of Izonland remains alive for future generations.
