The Naija Drone Soccer League, NDSL, has launched Nigeria’s first competitive drone soccer league for senior secondary school students, merging e-sports with STEM education.

The league aims to introduce students to aerospace, aeronautics, aviation technology, engineering and robotics through structured competition.

NDSL said the platform is designed to build skills in teamwork, problem-solving and strategic thinking while preparing students for careers in technology and aviation.

Under the initiative, NDSL would provide the participating schools with a nationwide drone-soccer league for Senior Secondary School students Athletes; drone-soccer kits, training, and technical support.

The competition will run through regional qualifiers leading to a national championship. NDSL will also run teacher and school capacity-building programmes and create pathways to global STEM and drone technology opportunities.

“Drone soccer is more than a sport—it is a training ground for the future,” the league said. “Through this league, we are building a generation of innovators who will shape Nigeria’s future in technology, aviation and engineering.”

NDSL, however , is inviting senior secondary schools nationwide to register for the inaugural season, saying that early participants will receive priority onboarding, technical support and national visibility.

The league is also seeking partnerships with corporate organisations and development partners to support youth empowerment and expand Nigeria’s drone and robotics ecosystem.

Nigerian Pilot gathered that the Naija Drone Soccer League is Nigeria’s first structured drone soccer competition platform dedicated to merging education, innovation and e-sports.
