Nigeria is at World Travel Market 2026 in London, and the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) is leading the delegation. This follows the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the country’s participation.
The endorsement was secured during a courtesy visit by the NTDA Director-General, Mr. Ola Awakan, to the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
In a statement issued from London, the NTDA DG emphasised that Nigeria’s participation at WTM 2026 is enabling the country to present its tourism assets to a global audience, raising the profile of key destinations and products while opening new market possibilities.
Awakan stated that NTDA was using the platform to advance collaboration, innovation and storytelling in promoting Nigeria’s tourism potential.
According to the NTDA Chief, participation is also supporting efforts to attract investment into infrastructure, hospitality and related services, strengthening the sector’s contribution to economic diversification and job creation under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He noted that Nigeria’s involvement is facilitating strategic partnerships with international operators, airlines and destination management companies while helping to improve access and promote Nigerian tourism offerings.
By showcasing Nigeria’s cultural heritage, natural attractions and emerging tourism options on a major global platform, the delegation will work to increase visitor arrivals and encourage private-sector involvement in destination marketing.
Overall, Nigeria’s presence galvanising participation from the private sector through the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, to WTM London 2026 comes with a lot of positives like accelerating sector growth, expanding global visibility and reinforcing tourism’s role in national development.
