United Republic of Tanzania is set to play host to a high-level Pan-African Trade and Investment Delegation from July 29 to August 9, 2026, as part of efforts to deepen intra-African trade, investment and economic cooperation.
The diplomatic mission forms part of preparations for the Future Africa Trade & Investment Expo (FATI Expo) 2026, scheduled to hold from October 24 to 31, 2026, and is expected to strengthen partnerships across key sectors of the African economy.
During the visit, the delegation led by Global Tourism Investment Promoter, Amb. Phil Roberts, will engage with senior Tanzanian government officials, investment promotion agencies, business leaders and development partners to explore opportunities for strategic partnerships, cross-border investments and regional collaboration.
The discussions will also focus on leveraging the opportunities presented by the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) through investments in tourism, hospitality, infrastructure, sports tourism and destination development.
According to the organisers, the mission will prioritise collaboration in agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, the blue economy, renewable energy, infrastructure, information and communication technology, artificial intelligence, healthcare, financial technology, maritime and logistics, real estate, trade and investment, startups, as well as women and youth enterprise development.
Speaking ahead of the mission, Head of Delegation, Amb. Phil Roberts, described the initiative as a significant step towards accelerating Africa’s economic integration.
“This mission is a strategic step towards strengthening Africa’s economic integration through trade, investment, tourism, and sustainable partnerships,” he said.
The organisers expressed optimism that the mission would lay the foundation for stronger business relationships and investment commitments ahead of the FATI Expo 2026, which is expected to bring together policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs and development stakeholders from across Africa and beyond.
The Future Africa Trade & Investment Expo is designed to promote intra-African trade, facilitate investment opportunities and foster sustainable economic growth through strategic partnerships across the continent.
